Quilt 16: Cutting the Blocks

We're off and running. I've cut out the 56 maroon blocks (8.5" x 8.5") and 224 grey squares (3.5" x 3.5") and stitched the grey squares to the corners of the maroon ones - then paused to take this photo:

Yup - there's a bit of work done there! :-)

Now I'll go through the 56 blocks and trim away the corners, then fold them back and press:

It took a while to get it all done, and I found that I can work straight for about two hours, but then I need a rest (if only just to get up and walk around a little). This quilt is a pretty simple one and it's coming along quickly!
